About The Gen Bridge

The Gen Bridge - Inspiration!

The Gen Bridge started as a dream – inspired by The Distillery District in Toronto, a heritage industrial space reimagined for a modern day – Hastings, on the Trent Locks, shares a similar industrial heritage and the inspiration to create a community gathering place, with bustling market vendors, the sounds of music, complete with cobblestones underfoot took hold and The Gen Bridge was born.

The Gen Bridge - Inspiration!

As work began to create the space, clearing the lots, creating the foundation for the cobblestones, we were visited daily by locals with stories to tell – a story we heard many times was that our site was one end of a temporary Bailey Bridge used while building the “new” main Hastings Bridge – the bridge – The Gen Bridge – a nod to history, a bridge to community!

The Gen Bridge – C’mon out!

Neighbour to The General on millpond, The Gen Bridge is an Outdoor Marketplace, featuring Vendors, Musicians, The Snack Shack’s famous Bacon on a Bun & Gen Market Sheds. Gates open Victoria Day Weekend to Thanksgiving!
