In 2012, Naneen launched her quaint retail shop in Picton, Ontario, during theannual “Maple in the County” festival. What started as a small home canningventure quickly blossomed into a thriving business, selling no sugar added,preservative-free, and gluten-free products to over 300 stores across Ontarioand Canada, including Metro, Longo’s, Sobeys, and Foodland.
Reflecting on her journey, Naneen often marvels at how she became a master canner—a role she never envisioned for herself.
Yet, the roots of her culinary passion run deep. Her grandfather, a World War Iveteran, became a celebrated Master Chef in Montreal, while her mothertransitioned from a successful acting career to starting a gourmet French catering business in 1972.
Naneen’s own path included running a landscape design business beforediving into the canning industry in Prince Edward County. Food and cookinghave always been a central theme in her family’s narrative.
Today, Naneen’s business is truly a family affair. Her husband Greg and hersister Laurie are both integral parts of this business and between them theyhave 70+ years of combined knowledge in the food industry. Naneen’s eldest son, Owen, is the creative mind behind their branding and photography, making it a true family collaboration.
With every twist and turn in her life, Naneen believes there’s a purpose behind it all. “Sometimes, it takes a wrong turn to get you to the right place,”she reflects, grateful for the support that has propelled her company forward.
